POLICE are reminding parents about "stranger danger" after speaking to a man who was giving out lollipops to children in the Stanley area.
The "suspicious behaviour" was reported to police on Sunday.
A number of people had reported that a man was driving around in a white vehicle, giving lollipops to children.
A police spokesperson said: "A number of reports were made to police of suspicious activity in the Stanley area.
"The reports were of a white vehicle being driven by an male who was giving lollipops to children.
"These reports were investigated by police and turned out to be non-suspicious, with no risk to children.
"The male was spoken to and although his intentions were good, he has been given appropriate advice by officers.
"This may also be a good opportunity to remind children about 'stranger danger' and not to accept things from strangers."
