POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a cat was allegedly shot by a teenage girl.
The cat suffered serious injuries after being shot by a BB gun on the Ridgeway estate in Eastfield near Scarborough on Thursday, July 11.
Members of the public reported seeing a teenage girl walking on the street and carrying two small BB guns on the day of the incident.
Police said they were now appealing for the public's help to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident and to identify the girl.
She is described as between 14 and 16-years-old, 5ft tall and of slim build.
She is also described as having shoulder length blonde hair which is shaved on the left hand side.
