OVER a thousand people marched through the streets of Darlington today as part of its daytime Pride celebrations.
The procession was led from the Market Place by Darlington Mayor Nick Wallis and drag queen Ann Bag and wound its way up Posthouse Wynd, down Skinnergate and back to the Market Place, people blowing whistles and dancing on their way.
The event, the second year it has been held, now looks likely to become an annual parade following its success.
It was organised by Darlington ARQ, which provides counselling and support for the LGBT community, with the held of the events team from Darlington Borough Council, police and the fire brigade.
