AN Aston Martin has suffered thousands of pounds worth of damage following hit and run with a white van.

The white box van crashed into the sports car at around 10.15am this morning on Casson Way in Billingham.

Cleveland Police believe it is linked to another incident a short time earlier whereby the driver of the Aston Martin and the driver of a black vehicle were involved in an altercation outside the parade of shops on Casson Way.

The driver of the black vehicle is believed to have returned in the van, which was driven to Casson Way from the direction of Bowes Road.

A force spokeswoman said: "The driver of the van is described as a white male, of stocky build, light coloured hair with side parting, tattoo on right side of neck (possibly initials) and tattoos on both arms.

"Police believe that part of the registration of the white box van is possibly "NJ" or "NY" and following the incident it would have extensive front end and rear end damage. It is believed to be in the local Billingham area."
