THE trial of a woman accused of assisting a street robber, who waylaid a social club employee leaving a Post Office with ‘float’ money, has been put back by five weeks.
Marie Timney is accused of driving Gary Hill, the partner of her daughter, from the scene, after the robbery, in Horden, on February 16.
Hill, 38, of AJ Cook Terrace, Shotton Colliery, admitted robbery, plus theft of chocolate bars from an Easington Colliery Co-op store on the same day, at a Durham Crown Court plea hearing, in March.
He is remanded in custody, to be sentenced after the outcome of the trial of co-accused, Mrs Timney.
The 54-year-old alleged getaway driver, who is bailed to an address in Plantation Avenue, Littletown, denies involvement in the robbery.
She is now to face a two-day trial, starting on August 5.
