EMERGENCY services were called to the scene of a serious crash in the North York Moors on Sunday.
The incident happened on the B1257 between Stokesley and Helmsley near Chop Gate.
The road was closed in both directions and motorists were advised to avoid the area.
A spokesperson for North Yorkshire police said: "We are currently at the scene of a serious road traffic collision on the B1257 between Stokesley and Helmsley at Chop Gate.
"The road is closed in both directions. Please avoid the area."
The road has now reopened.
