BUILDING work has begun on a new nursery at a children’s farm visitor attraction.

Adventure Valley, at Brasside, near Durham, has said it will provide young children with a ‘unique learning experience’.

The new day nursery and pre-school will be a joint venture between Adventure Valley and childcare provider Kids Play, offering care for youngsters from six weeks to 5 years of age.

Janine Calzini, owner of Adventure Valley, said: “Young children love coming and enjoying a fantastic experience in the countryside. Children who attend will enjoy daily visits to the adventure park, where they will be able to visit the farmyard animals and so much more.”

The new setting will have private gardens, new learning resources and supervised visits to Adventure Valley.

Sharon Elliott, childcare director of Kids Play Childcare: “The children will be able to enjoy the countryside experience, really connecting with nature and the farmyard animals on-site.

“Children will be able to handle animals, tend gardens and learn the value of growing and eating their own produce as well as exploring landscaped environments which allow them to develop an understanding of risk.”
