A NUISANCE biker has been banned from riding around Darlington after terrorising residents.
Declan Drummond, who repeatedly rides motorbikes antisocially and illegally in the town, has been served with a community protection warning notice after repeatedly flouting driving laws by riding both on and off-road motorcycles illegally, antisocially and dangerously.
The notice states that he must not ride or be a passenger on any motorbike illegally, he must not ride a motorbike in any public area at any time which is likely to be considered as antisocial by any member of the public, and he must not verbally abuse or goad police officers or police staff at any time.
The 19-year-old, of no fixed address, must abide with the conditions imposed by the notice or face prosecution and a potential fine of up to £2,500.
Inspector Chris Knox, from Darlington Police, said: “This particular individual is well known to police and the community as a public nuisance. He regularly terrorises the local area by riding motorbikes in and around housing estates, on the footpaths and near to children’s play areas, often at high speed. Drummond needs to realise that this behaviour will not be tolerated.
“If he ignores this notice he could find himself before the courts and be fined up to £2,500."
