A MAN has been remanded in custody in connection with an attempted “armed” robbery involving a fake gun in a Darlington corner shop.
Paul Richardson, 39, was charged with attempted robbery and possession of an imitation firearm following an incident at 12.25pm on Thursday afternoon in the Londis shop on Hollyhurst Road.
He appeared at Peterlee Magistrates’ Court on Friday morning alongside Jennianne Muise, 27, who has been charged with attempted robbery and possession of a class B drug, amphetamine.
The pair, both of Salisbury Terrace, in Darlington, did not enter any pleas during a short hearing at the court.
Mr Richardson has been remanded in custody and will next appear at Teesside Crown Court on June 28.
