EXOTIC and rare species of orchids will be on show at one of the North-East’s premier historical tourist attractions in May.

On Sunday, May 5 and Monday, May 6, between 10am and 5pm, Raby Castle will be hosting the 20th Anniversary of the Orchid Show, which will be welcoming back the North East of England and Darlington Orchid Societies, who always present some spectacular exhibits and fabulous displays of orchids.

They will be joined by orchid growers and sellers from all over the country, who will gather to showcase some of the most beautiful and dramatic varieties of plants available.

Exhibitors include Peter White Orchids, Laneside Hardy Orchids, Spiceotics Orchids, Orchid Alchemy, Darlington Orchid Society, NE of England Orchid Society, and Janet Orme Botanic Artist.

There will be plenty of opportunity to meet the experts, ask questions and buy your own specimens to nurture at home.

Come and enjoy the repotting/cultural demonstrations at 11am and 3pm - to include a problem plants surgery - and there will be an Introduction to Orchids presentation at 12noon.

Admission is free with a Park and Gardens ticket.

Raby is open daily from 10am, and the Castle from 11am.
