POLICE are trying to trace a woman who told door staff of a town centre pub she had been raped.

The possible victim told staff from Liquor Vaults on Zetland Road in Middlesbrough on Saturday at 11.30pm and informed them she had been attacked. It is not known where the rape took place.

Cleveland Police said the woman was advised to go inside the bar whilst the staff contacted police but the woman left without leaving her contact details.

Officers are concerned for the woman’s welfare and are asking the woman to get in touch with police. Incidents of this nature are dealt with in the strictest confidence and specially trained officers will be available to offer support.
