FOAM cannons, bubble stations and a 4ft wall of suds are all part of a 5km Bubble Rush heading to Durham this summer.

The multi-coloured bubble frenzy will take place on Saturday, July 6, at St Leonard’s Playing Fields.

Bubble Blasters will be along the route blowing out the colourful froth for added fun.

The mass participation event, suitable for pushchairs and wheelchairs, is a new addition to St Cuthbert’s Hospice fundraising calendar.

Jade McArdle, senior community and events coordinator, said: “We are so excited to be bringing a brand new bubbly event to the area.

“We need the community to sign up and help raise funds for St Cuthbert’s.”

“You can run, walk, toddle or dance your way around the family-friendly 5K course.

“Don’t worry if you’re not a runner as the event isn’t timed so you’re not racing against anyone and there’s no time limit.

“The important thing is to do it with a smile on your face and enjoy the bubbles.”

Tickets are £15 for adults and £10 for children before May 6 then £20 and £12.50.

An official Bubble Rush t-shirt to wear on the day is included in the price of the ticket and all finishers receive a medal. Under 2’s free entry but will not receive a t-shirt.
