A VEGAN activist is calling for a Domino's worker to be sacked after claiming they "sabotaged" her pizza.

JayJay Palmer, of Ferryhill, County Durham said she was told her pizza could be adapted when she ordered it from the Spennymoor store last month.

However, when the mushroom and sweetcorn pizza arrived, she discovered bits of chicken and sausage which she said had been "hidden" under the sauce and vegetables.

The 26-year-old mother-of-two said she rang the store to complain and received an apology from the store manager after it was returned to the store.

She said: "The manager rang up saying please don't take it further and I was so upset and angry because I could not believe they had done it."

Miss Palmer said she was not trying to shame the chain but was felt her complaint had not been taken seriously.

She said the store also failed to notify her that their pizza bases contain milk and eggs.

She is now calling for the staff member to be sacked and will never order again.

She said: "There was no way it was an accident - they have lied."

Miss Palmer said she has now contacted the Vegan Society and will be looking to take the matter further.

A Domino’s spokesperson said: “When Ms. Palmer made her complaint we apologised for this genuine mistake and offered Ms. Palmer a full refund which she refused. It’s absolute nonsense to suggest this was ‘deliberate sabotage'."
