A BUS provider has teamed up with community groups, charities and organisations in order to help those suffering from loneliness in the region.
As part of its national Connecting Communities campaign, Arriva created a regional website hub that outlines local centres and activities, to help provide inspiration for people who may be feeling lonely or disconnected from the community.
The website hub contains information on groups, events and activities within the North-East, as well as the specific Arriva bus route to catch, to help encourage people to visit and take part; ultimately promoting social interactions and helping to reduce isolation.
Cora Woodhouse, Arriva marketing director, said: “With these regional website hubs, we aim to help people within the community who have previously felt isolated. By working with local community groups, charities and organisations, as well as museums and cultural centres, we are able to highlight where people can go."
