THE A66 has reopened following a serious crash between a lorry and a car earlier today.
At around 9:45am on Friday, March 22, the emergency services were called to reports of a collision between the A1M and A67 near Ravensworth, North Yorkshire.
The road remained closed for several hours whilst the emergency services attended the scene.
A spokesperson for Highways England said: "North Yorkshire's Roads Policing Group and other emergency services are continuing to deal with a serious incident on the A66 in the Ravensworth area.
"This road will be closed for some time and we would advise any persons travelling TransPennine to use an alternative route such as M62 or A69 roads."
A spokesperson for Highways England later added: "The road reopened at around 3:40pm."
