THREE men knocked another man unconscious and stamped on his head in a violent assault outside a town centre pub.
Police are now appealing for witnesses to the attack, which happened near Ferryhill market place.
The incident occurred just after midnight on Sunday, March 10 outside of the Dean and Chapter pub.
It is believed three men approached the victim before punching him and knocking the injured man unconscious.
They then proceeded to stamp on the victim's head before making off.
The victim was taken to the University Hospital of North Durham with head and facial injuries.
Two 17-year-old men and one aged 19 were arrested on suspicion of actual bodily harm and public order.
They have since been released under investigation.
Officers are now appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident to call Durham Constabulary on 101, quoting reference number 4 of March 10.
