A PEDESTRIAN has been hit by a bus in a school car park.

Police and paramedics were called to St Francis Xavier School in Richmond, North Yorkshire at around 3.30pm on Monday (March 18).

A spokesperson for North Yorkshire Police said: "We are at the scene of a collision on Darlington Road, involving a pedestrian and a bus.

"Officers are currently working alongside paramedics at the scene. Please avoid the area, and seek alternative routes for your journeys."

A school spokesperson said: "Buses currently delayed at school due to an incident in the car park, paramedics and ambulance crew have arrived at the scene and the buses should be departing within the hour."
