A B&B is offering respite from Brexit fatigue with a month of special conditions for guests including banning the 'B' word and welcoming British Bulldogs for free.

As Britain prepares to leave the EU on March 29, guests at Newton House in Knaresborough can experience a blissfully Brexit-free getaway.

The Award winning B&B's ‘Escape from Brexit Breaks’ run throughout March with special rates and specific conditions.

The Northern Echo:

These include; TV and radio restricted to non-news channels, newspapers banned and a £1 fine issued each time anyone mentions the ‘B–word’ during their stay, with the proceeds going to the Yorkshire Air Ambulance.

In addition, the Continental breakfast will be scrapped - with the Full English taking centre stage - and British Bulldogs will be welcome free in dog-friendly rooms.

And in a nod to our soon to be ex-partners, European guests will be invited to return the B&B post-Brexit at the same price as a pre-Brexit stay, and payment in Euros will be welcomed.

The B&B's owner Denise Carter, who won Channel 4's 'Four in a Bed' contest in 2016, said: “Every day the Brexit debate continues on the news channels and I for one am fed up with the constant drone of Brexit.

"The noise will only get louder as we head toward the March 29 deadline, or even longer if delayed, and I thought it was about time there was an opportunity for guests to take a rest from Brexit too.

“We have a lot of guests who are of the same mind set as me and hopefully our initiative will attract more people to come and put Brexit out of their minds, even for a short while.”

Escape from Brexit Breaks start at £95per person B&B in a standard double room for two nights.
