FOUR men have been released under investigation following alleged carjacking just off the A19.
On Thursday, Cleveland Police said a man was pulled from his vehicle by a group of men of "Eastern European appearance" who were believed to have a gun.
The gang allegedly dragged the man, 35, from his white Nissan NV 200 van in broad daylight on Thursday before speeding off.
It happened at about 12.15pm at the roundabout junction of the A174 Parkway and the A19 near Thornaby.
Today, a force spokeswoman said: "The four men who were arrested after a man reported being pulled from his van which was then stolen on Thursday, have now been released under investigation while inquiries continue."
The van was later found abandoned in Thornaby, near to The Griffin Pub on Bader Avenue.
