AN ELDERLY pedestrian has died after being hit by a van in Ripon.
The 86-year-old woman was crossing the A61 Harrogate Road from a nearby bus stop when she was hit by a white Citroen Berlingo.
She was airlifted to Leeds General Infirmary, but died in the early hours of Saturday morning due to the severity of her injuries.
North Yorkshire Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident which happened opposite Quarry Moor Park Road in Ripon at 4.50pm on Friday, December 28
