A DRUG driver will spend Christmas in prison after he was caught by North Yorkshire Police twice in the same week.
Oliver James Rutter, of Grantley Drive, Harrogate, has been jailed for ten-weeks after being convicted of a string of motoring offences.
Police stopped a Ford Fiesta driven by the 28-year-old on August 21. He was charged with drug driving and driving without insurance or an appropriate licence.
On August 28, the same officer stopped him again and Rutter was charged with exactly the same offences. He was due in court for a trial on December 10 but failed to turn up. Rutter handed himself in at a police station two days later.
He pleaded guilty to the offences at York Magistrates’ Court where he received the jail sentence and an 18-month driving ban.
