TWO elderly brothers, both in their 70s, were robbed in their own home for a large sum of cash.

The incident, which happened at around 5.30pm on Saturday, November 24, involved one suspect arriving at the home of the elderly men, asking for water for his child and claiming his car had broken down nearby.

The elderly victim closed the door to get a glass of water and returned to find a second man present.

The two suspects pushed the elderly man to the floor and stepped over him to get into the house on Acklam Road, Middlesbrough.

One of the men stood over the victim to stop him from getting up, while his accomplice searched the property. The second elderly man remained in the living room during the incident.

Both suspects then left the address with cash.

One man is described a white, of stocky build with a "beer belly" and around 6ft tall. He wore brown work boots. The second suspect is also white. Both had North-East accents.
