A MAN has been arrested on suspicion of raping a woman in a Darlington car park.
Officers are investigating following reports of a rape of a woman in her 30s in St Augustine’s Church car park, Larchfield Street, in the early hours of Saturday morning.
The incident was reported to police at 3.25am and a 25-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of rape.
He was taken into police custody and later released under investigation.
The whole of the car park remained cordoned off by police tape throughout the day.
Anyone who witnessed the incident, or has any information, is asked to contact Durham Constabulary on 101, quoting incident number 61 of November 24.
