A spokesperson for Durham police said a 16-year old boy has been arrested on suspicion of assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
A Ferryhill shopper said: “I heard the guy was badly wounded last night, people were saying he was stabbed in the leg. I don’t think anyone has been told anything about what happened or his condition. There’s blood all over the street though so I think it must have been bad.”
