A MAN and a woman have been arrested in connection with a burglary of a supermarket, which saw £2,000 worth of goods reported stolen.
A charity box containing cash was also reported stolen from the Co-op store in Norton, near Stockton, as well as large quantities of cigarettes and alcohol.
The incident is believed to have taken place at around 1.30am on Thursday, November 8, on Norton High Street.
Detectives have arrested a 44-year-old man and a 36-year-old woman, both from the Norton area.
The pair were arrested on Friday, November 16, and have since been released under investigation, pending further police enquiries.
