THE first training courses for a new qualification to improve management standards across the club union (CIU) take place in the North-East, in coming weeks.
Framwellgate Moor and Pity Me Working Men’s Club, in Front Street, Framwellgate Moor, Durham, hosts the opening two sessions for applicants for the Award in Club Management, on Saturday November 24 and Saturday December 15.
The new qualification has been devised by the CIU’s education committee, working alongside the CPL Training group.
It was officially launched during the CIU 2018 Conference weekend in Blackpool, earlier this year, and consists of three stages, each taking a day of study to complete.
Stage one concentrates on law and regulation concerning licensing, the second looks at other aspects of law and regulation and the third is on management, finance and administration.
Places can be booked via Cath Fitzpatrick, by email to cfitzpatrick@wmciu.org, or on 0207-226 0221, ext. 238.
