A REPORT is being prepared on the possible futures of an historic pub with significant links to the North-East's railway heritage.
The owner of Locomotion No 1, which sits opposite the platform of Heighington train station, near Newton Aycliffe, working with Durham County Council, has recently covered the cost of securing the building.
A spokesperson for the county council this week said a condition survey had been commissioned to inform the viability of the building.
The closed pub has been the target of vandals and failed to sell at auction this year.
