TWO people were threatened at knifepoint while walking in a residential street.
The incident happened on Wednesday, when a man and a woman were walking in Laurel Avenue, in the Gilesgate Moor, Durham.
They were approached by a man, who was armed with a knife and made threats of violence before demanding they hand over their property.
The man then made off but was later found by police officers after matching a description given by the victim.
A 23-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with the incident.
Angus Hollingsworth, of no fixed abode, has been charged with robbery, possession of an offensive weapon and assaulting a police officer.
He appeared at Peterlee Magistrates' Court today and was remanded in custody.
He is due to appear at Durham Crown Court on November 23.
