A TEENAGER appeared in court on Wednesday after police pursued a car through Weardale.
He was remanded overnight at Bishop Auckland Police Station before appearing at Newton Aycliffe Magistrates’ Court.
The teenager was charged with burglary, dangerous driving, failing to stop, having no insurance, two counts of criminal damage and theft of a vehicle.
No pleas were entered.
He was represented by Andrew Clinton, of Meikles Solicitors.
Mr Clinton made no application for bail and the magistrates decided to remand him into custody.
He is next due to appear at the court as part of the Youth Court on Friday, where he is expected to go on trial for these and other offences.
