A SUSPECTED hit and run incident which injured a 57-year-old pedestrian has sparked a police appeal for witnesses.
The woman, who was struck at around 10pm on Thursday, October 18, sustained bruising and swelling after the incident.
Cleveland Police are investigating the crash, with the pedestrian reporting that the vehicle involved did not stop at the scene.
The incident happened on Miers Avenue, in Hartlepool, close to the junction with Bruce Crescent.
Police are appealing for the driver of the vehicle and any witnesses to come forward and contact PC Andy Lawson from the Cleveland and Durham Specialist Operations Unit.
