A MAN was left with facial injuries following a road rage incident.
The 60-year-old is said to have been assaulted after he and another driver for into an argument in Jesmond Road, Newcastle, at about 11am on Thursday, October 18.
A Northumbria police spokesperson said: "The driver of a white Jeep Cheroke has approached the passenger of the other vehicle, an Audi, and allegedly assaulted him causing injuries to his face.
"The 60-year-old man has required hospital treatment while the driver of the Jeep Cheroke has then left in his car and driven towards the Coast Road."
A 56-year-old was later arrested by police and has since been released under investigation.
The police have now launched an appeal for any witnesses to come forward.
