A SCHOOL'S new headteacher is settling in.

Jonathan Ferstenberg, joined Wolsingham School, this term and said he was "delighted" to join the staff team.

Since arriving, Mr Ferstenberg has spent a lot of time visiting lessons where he praised staff, especially for thier committment to school clubs.

He also said he was "extremely impressed" by the pastoral care he had observed during his short time in post.

He said: “Every child is known, the older students look after younger ones, and students very often stop you at lunch to say hello. It is like a family.”

Mr Ferstenberg is exploring plans for the future and said he will be exploring alternative ways of providing a sixth form again.

Mr Ferstenberg keeps the public updated through his weekly blog on the News and Events page of the Wolsingham School website.

He said: “It is an exciting time for an excellent school.”
