SCARE: Consett Academy
ONE person has been arrested following a hoax bomb scare at a school and leisure centre earlier today (Wednesday, October 17).
Consett Academy and Leisure Centre, in County Durham, had to be evacuated at around 1pm after police received a call suggesting there was a risk to the building.
Durham Police said it had launched an investigation and subsequently arrested someone.
A spokesperson said: "Following an incident this afternoon at Consett Academy one male has been arrested with enquiries ongoing."
