TICKETS are on sale for the showing of a documentary about the only British mountaineer to have climbed all 14 of the world’s 8,000m peaks.
The Gala Theatre, Durham, is showing the film Alan Hinkes: The First Briton to Climb the World’s Highest Mountains on Saturday, October 20.
The documentary by award-winning and critically acclaimed outdoor filmmaker Terry Abraham features footage captures the spirit and ambition of Mr Hinkes as well as the stunning beauty, harshness and danger of the world’s highest mountains.
Robin Byers, theatre manager, said: “Gala works hard to nurture great content for people who love the great outdoors as we know there’s an appetite for it in County Durham.
“That’s why we launched our very own annual Adventure Festival and why we’re always excited to bring audiences new adventure-themed experiences like this one.”
