Rosie the cockatoo, who has been stolen from a pet shop in Stockton
A MUCH-loved cockatoo has been stolen from a pet shop in Stockton.
Rosie the cockatoo was stolen after thieves broke into Pet Mania, on Portrack Lane, at about 7.15pm on Sunday night.
The bird belongs to the shop owners who are now desperately trying to trace her.
Thieves were stopped by a member of the public heading up Portrack Lane with the bird, on foot.
The woman asked them what they were doing and after not getting a clear answer she then reported the incident to Stockton Police.
It is believed Rosie could have escaped or is being kept at a home.
She is well known among customers of Pet Mania and entertains visitors to the shop.
