A FOUR-WEEK-OLD baby died in hospital after the emergency services were called to her aid on Wednesday morning.
The air ambulance, North East Ambulance service and police rushed to a Middlesbrough house to help the child after being alerted at 8.22am.
They worked to save the child’s life at a property on Victoria Street in South Bank but despite their efforts, she died shortly after being taken by ambulance to the James Cook University Hospital.
A spokeswoman for Cleveland Police said: “The death is currently being treated as unexplained and a post mortem examination will take place later this evening to establish the cause of death.”
