TELEVISION personality Scarlett Moffatt is hosting a Halloween pop-up shop raising money for the community.

The Gogglebox star and I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here winner, hopes the event in Bishop Auckland, will boost trade in the town and raise money for the Angel Trust charity.

She said: “I became an ambassador for the Angel Trust because I wanted to give back to the community following the support I was given in the jungle.

“I wanted a way to personally thank everyone and I think this is a nice way to do it because all the funds raised are going back into the County Durham and Darlington area.

“If it does well for the charity that’s amazing and if it does well for other local businesses here, then that’s even better. It’s a lovely thing to be apart of.”

The star is passionate about raising money for the Angel Trust which works to support local individuals and organisations in the town. She said supporters such as M&Co and Select who donated clothing rails, had helped in making the pop-up shop possible.

The event will be held at the old McIntyre Shoe Shop, known as a landmark in Bishop Auckland, it has stood on the site for over 100 years and was offered as the event venue by its owner Wayne Baister.

  • The public are invited to visit the shop on Newgate Street from nine till five on Thursday October 4. They will also be given the chance to meet Scarlett who will be helping to run the shop.
