A LONG-ESTABLISHED business is preparing to pull out all the stops for a charity coffee morning.

The Tees'pot is the oldest café in Middleton-in-Teesdale. Owner, Michelle Longman, took over the café in March, and recently took part in the four-day heritage event in the village which celebrated 150 years of the railway and businesses in the community.

Staff dressed up in period costume and offered food from the past including stew, homemade soup, pies, bread and butter pudding and homemade scones.

A lot of people provided information about the café's history and previous owners, which was displayed.

And now they are gearing up for their latest even on Friday, September 28, when they will be holding a coffee morning in aid of MacMillan Cancer Support.

Ten per cent of our takings will go to the charity and Tracy Collinson will be baking a five-tier vanilla drizzle cake, which will be raffled off for charity.
