BURGLARIES at three pubs across Weardale are believed to be linked.
Officers are investigating the break-ins which happened in Stanhope and Westgate on Sunday night.
It is believed three male suspects broke into The Rookhope Inn and The Bonny Moorhen, in Stanhope, and the Hare and Hounds, in Westgate.
A quantity of cash was taken from each pub.
A fourth burglary was also reported at a pub in Blanchland, in Northumberland.
Weardale Neighbourhood Inspector Ed Turner said: “We’d like to reassure people that these types of incidents are rare in this area, and we are doing everything we can to trace those responsible.”
Anyone with any information should contact Durham Police on 101 and ask for South Durham CID.
