A CAR has crashed into a hospital building, the driver escaping with minor injuries.
Emergency services were called to the scene of the crash at the University Hospital of North Durham, in Durham City, shortly after 9am on Tuesday.
A white Honda Civic had hit a building and the driver, a man in his 60s, was treated at the scene.
It is understood the safety of the building is currently being assessed before the vehicle can be removed.
Speaking from the scene, reporter Gavin Havery that the car had collided with the wall beneath a window. It was wedged in the building up to the front seats.
The wooden window above was knocked out of the frame and was resting on the car bonnet.
The car was now surrounded by safety barriers, cordoning it off.
The accident site is at the edge of the premises, adjacent to the A691.
