A MAN has been arrested in connection with a ram-raid on a village shop.
A cash machine was stolen at about 2am on Monday, when suspects used a JCB digger to smash the wall of Sainsbury's in Brandon, near Durham.
The cash machine was loaded into the back of a silver pickup truck before being driven off.
On Tuesday morning, a spokesman for Durham Constabulary said: "A 34-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of theft.
"He has been released under investigation while enquiries continue."
