NORTH Yorkshire’s Police and Crime Commissioner Julia Mulligan has published her Annual Report for the 2017/2018 financial year.

It outlines progress against the Police and Crime Plan over the twelve month period.

The Plan, which all Commissioners must produce, sets out the vision and priorities for policing and community safety, as well as objectives and ambitions that the Chief Constable will be held to account against.

The year saw North Yorkshire remain the safest place in England, as well as the police force being assessed as ‘good’ by Her Majesty’s Inspectorate of Constabulary.

The roll-out of a mobile working programme, to allow officers to spend more time in communities rather than filling in forms at a police station, was also introduced.

Ms Mulligan said: “This was another busy year for North Yorkshire Police, but I am pleased to see significant progress was made in reaching the objectives set out in my Police and Crime Plan.

Ms Mulligan added that investment has been made, particularly in the control room, and she remained committed to listening to the public.
