STAFF at a Warburtons Bakeries factory in Newcastle were evacuated from the building after a fire in one of the ovens.
Two appliances from Tyne & Wear Fire and Rescue services were called to the scene at Newburn Industrial Estate at around 10am.
A spokesperson for the brigade said: "It was just a small fire in one of the ovens. Firefighters put it out using a fire extinguisher."
One witness said the area smelled of burnt toast.
All staff have now been let back into the building.
