CANINE carers at Dogs Trust Darlington have raised pounds for hounds by completing the Great North Run.
Natalie Waller, Paul Cutler and Toni Hockridge were well prepared for the half-marathon after getting help with their training from four-legged residents at the Sadberge site.
The trio took on the challenge for the second year a in a row in support of the charity, this year being given moral support from this mascot Billy, the six-year-old English Bull Terrier currently staying at the rehoming centre.
Sue Embleton, Rehoming Centre Manager at Dogs Trust Darlington, said: “Our dogs have been great mascots for our runners and have definitely kept them on their toes in the same way a good personal trainer would challenge their students.
“Billy the mascot is a handsome boy who is looking for a quiet, adult only home, that he can call his own. He enjoys human companionship, is fully house-trained and can be left for a little while on his own at home.”
