VIDEOS showing unprovoked assaults on teenage girls which have been viewed hundreds of thousands of times online are being investigated by police.
Officers in Bishop Auckland Police have confirmed they are investigating the content of the two videos shared by self-titled comedian and commentator Robin Armstrong.
As of Thursday night both videos had been viewed a combined 700,000 times.
Mr Armstrong told The Northern Echo he was sent one video from a victim and then received more footage which he claims to feature the girl.
The videos have also garnered more than 7,000 comments.
Bishop Auckland Police said: “Bishop Auckland Police are aware of a number of videos being posted around social media regarding a female assaulting other females.
“This is currently being investigated, the suspect has been identified and enquiries are ongoing at this time.”
