A POPULAR exhibition is being extended, which shows the impact and inspiration the landscape and people of Yorkshire have had on well-known artists.

Of Yorkshire, From Yorkshire is a selection of 12 paintings and two sculptures with a strong Yorkshire link taken from the private collection of David Ross, co-founder of the Carphone Warehouse.

The exhibition at Ryedale Folk Museum, on the edge of the moors in Hutton-le-Hole, was due to close on September 3, but has now been extended until Sunday, September 16.

“This has been a really popular exhibition over the summer, and we’re very grateful to David Ross for allowing us to keep hold of so many pieces from his collection for an extra couple of weeks,” said Jennifer Smith, director of Ryedale Folk Museum.

“Each and every work has a unique connection to Yorkshire, and it is fantastic to be able to showcase the work of such celebrated artists as David Hockney, Barbara Hepworth and Harland Miller in a gallery which sits in such a beautiful part of Yorkshire.”

Entry to the art gallery is free, with admission for the museum of £7.95 for adults, £6.95 for concessions and children.

This exhibition has been made possible by public funding by Arts Council England.
