AN AIR ambulance landed in Darlington after a man fell seriously ill in the town this afternoon.

A crew from the Great North Air Ambulance landed at Darlington Cricket Club and rushed to the aid of a gentleman who had suffered suspected cardiac problems in the town centre.

The man was taken to Darlington Memorial Hospital by road ambulance, accompanied by members of the air ambulance’s team.

A spokesman for the Great North Air Ambulance said that the man was in a critical condition upon arrival at the hospital.
