TWO men have been charged in connection with a murder investigation in Gateshead.
Police received a report that a man had been stabbed in the Deckham area of the town at about 2.30pm on Wednesday, August 1.
Enquiries led officers to an address in Mayfair Gardens where they found the body of a 21-year-old Jonathan Carr.
Daniel Jeffrey Michael Smith, 20, of Cotemede, Wardley, Gateshead, and Steven Morrison, 20, of no fixed abode, were charged with murder on Saturday.
They were remanded in custody to appear at South Tyneside Magistrates Court on Monday, August 6.
Police continue to support Mr Carr's family at this time.
