TWO men are being hunted by police in Sunderland after smashing their way into a house and stealing a Rolex watch valued at £14,000.

Police received a report that two men had broken into a property on Queen Alexandra Road and stolen a number of items at around 12.25am on Tuesday.

The offenders, believed to have been carrying a hammer, smashed through a patio door before stealing vehicle keys and a Rolex watch. They then fled the scene on foot.

The victim was left shaken but uninjured.

A search of the area was conducted by police but so far they have been unable to trace the two men involved, plus a third man understood to have driven the suspects to the location.

Police would now like to speak to anybody who saw anything suspicious in the area at the time of the offence.
