ONE of the world’s most famous steam engines has pulled into County Durham.

The No. 60103 Flying Scotsman will be hauling passenger trains at Locomotion, in Shildon, throughout the weekend and on Monday.

For just £5 per person, visitors to the railway museum will be able to enjoy a rare opportunity to ride on a historic guard’s van, pulled by the mighty Flying Scotsman.

There will also be a range of free family learning activities for visitors.

Flying Scotsman’s appearance at Locomotion is part of Steam Season, the museum’s programme of inspiring events, exhibitions and activities from May until September, 2018.

Locomotion is open from 10am until 5pm daily and parking and admission are free of charge.
